“Bliss, it is also a choice. Simonetta Lein”

I love social media because when you use it well it can lead you to meet amazing people. This is how I found out about Maimah Karmo , a woman on a mission. We started to follow each other on Twitter and I was immediately attracted by her magazine’s name: Bliss. I dug into her life and I discovered that Maimah is a cancer survivor, a mom, entrepreneur, and the founder of the Tigerlily Foundation. I thought: how strong must a woman be that after going through cancer she started a project called Bliss? That is what she is, strong and I might add amazing.

“I was hit by lightning; escaped three wars; came to America as a refugee with only one suitcase at 15 years old; achieved the American Dream, and just when I thought I could exhale, I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer and watched it all fall apart again.  I was the single mother of a three year old and I thought I was going to die.  This is where God found me, broke me open, filled me up and put me back together again.  I became a soul on fire!!! I left a six-figure salary to live my life in service to others and it’s been a wonderfully, crazy, miraculous roller-coaster… Good Morning America, Oprah (twice), a best-selling book, speaking engagements, magazines, but most importantly, I found God and create MY BLISS. “

Maimah is a beautiful and empowering woman. I love her message and her story. As a fashionista, I see in her look the perfect career woman (that she is) and I think I can share with you some of her bliss boss style tips.

Who are you and what is the name of your business? 

I’m a mother, an entrepreneur, philanthropist, gypsy and bliss giver.  I have several businesses. Tigerlily Foundation ( www.tigerlilyfoundation.org ) is the non-profit organization I founded after being diagnosed with breast cancer, which supports young women – before, during and after breast cancer.  Bliss Magazine ( www.pureblissmag.com ) is my quarterly digital publication, focusing on inspiring people to see, create and live bliss! What is your brand about? 

My work is focused on inspiration, empowerment and transformation.  I knew from an early age that I wanted to spend my life helping and loving others. It’s too bad they didn’t have a course for that in school! I still found my way.  Both Tigerlily Foundation and Bliss Magazine focus on transforming people’s lives and I love that I get to inspire people to “wake up” and live their lives every day, no matter what challenges they face.

What is your mission? 

My life’s mission is focused on being a catalyst for people – inspiring and empowering them to be the change they seek in the world; and to pursue their bliss.

Are you a Millennial? What do you think about Millennials? 

I am a young mom but I am a generation Xer and I look at Millennials with admiration. Millenials are a powerful force to be reckoned with.  They are savvy, smart and ready to rule the world.  They are also innovators, seeking to make real world change.  I love that millennials also are committed to philanthropy and community.

I love fashion because everyone has their unique style.. and having the right clothes and accessories allow you to play with life.  Fashion allows you to try on different costumes and have fun.  Also, who doesn’t like to look fab?
