Empowering Style. The Celebrity Wishmaker Simonetta Lein Meets Author And Brand Expert Akasha Garnier.

There are people who are made to make a difference: women who stick together in “girl power”, and professionals who are dedicated to providing innovation and inspiration. I become empowered by those individuals, they motivate me to better myself. Their style is contagious, with their words, way of being, and fashion statements. One of these people is Akasha Garnier, and I am honored to have her on Empowering Style, a woman dedicated to inspiring and mentoring future entrepreneurs around the world.
Who are you and what is the name of your business?
I am Akasha Garnier
, an author, producer and activist who has just released my first book; I have aligned with community partners and am building on my dreams from there.
My business is Shine Through the Noise branding and VIP events;
I have worked in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, London, Paris, Cannes, Maui and Hawaii’s Big Island. My first book Secrets to Shine Through the Noise is a journey story from starving artist to mentorship.
Throughout my writing career I have been inspired by a boatload of interesting characters and A-list clients. I now blend my event background and bon voyages to create an amalgam of characters that will come to life in a travel thriller series (2.5 books written; many more stories to tell).
I work with several community partners including Teen Cancer America in LA and Chicago (The Who and Eddie Vedder’s charity; we are helping to build teen cancer units in 50 states); I also do PR support for Nando Milano Trattoria, my Italian family in Chicago and RED, Bono’s charity.
What is your brand about?
My brand is about self-worth and educating artists and entrepreneurs, so they have the ability to balance business, style and creative skills;
with these in place we have healthy options to reach our goals.
“Wherever you are on your journey…believe it’s worth the trip!”
This was my motivation when I was I was living in a castle in Hawaii, writing my first two books.
#ShineThroughtheNoise began as a collection of travel blogs and ends with inspiring business wisdom.

What is your mission?
My mission is to help artists know that they have options. When I lived in LA after college, I found that many writers and filmmakers were struggling to make ends meet (including me at the time). After working with my first mentor during my “Devil Wears Prada” year, I traveled to New York City and Paris with her frequently and learned the value of personal style in business. This was my first experience in becoming a strong personal brand. My books and films are written as a source to gain knowledge, power, and skills to make positive changes.
My mission continues as I give back to the community in mentoring writers and artists
as well as working with with promo partners in Chicago, LA and Hawaii.
My #ShineThoughTheNoise podcast and tour is poised to launch and bring branding, shine and success stories to life to continue this mission.
**Options are a fundamental part in business. As an artist, an entrepreneur, you must have a goal and at the same time become flexible in understanding that there are always more paths to reach that goal. There are many ways to build your empire and it is fundamental having the right team to work with and be inspired by . Having a mentor is the smartest choice an entrepreneur can make, it saves so much time and helps indentify your potential and weakenesses quicker, so that you can enjoy the process in becoming who you really are.
Are you a Millennial? What do you think about Millennials?
I am not a Millennial. I don’t believe labels help us and I’m an old soul, so I work and play well with many generations, including Millennials.
I am inspired by and working with many Millennials to help focus our missions and visions into ways we can better our world. I have been especially inspired by my friend, author, model and activist Simonetta Lein as we’ve discussed writing, branding and giving back.
I have also been inspired by many of the Millennials I have met through Teen Cancer America. They are survivors with heart-warming stories that can benefit us all.
**This is very rewarding and refreshing to hear, inspiring each other is something that uplifts you as a person and a professional. I think that giving back is the key to success for every entrepreneur, it expands your mission and your views and keeps you focused: we are here to enrich one an other, that is the real meaning of being an entrepreneur.
If you are here it means that you love fashion. Why?
I am originally from St. Paul, Minnesota. I had a glamorous grandmother and mother who taught me the value of looking and feeling good; they had an inner sparkle and I loved watching them get ready to make an entrance.
I love how the right look brings out a woman’s inner shine. I learned how to refine my own personal style from them; I then took that to a personal brand level when I traveled with my mentor in New York, Paris and the French Riviera.
**Here is my “Empowering Style” collection for Akasha, glamourous, vintage and classy.

**Here Akasha is with Oscar winning actor, musician and style icon, Jared Leto. This picture was taken at the premiere of his movie “Artifact”. I absolutely love this hair cut, very feminine and fashionable.

**This is glamour, Chicago, glasses and feathers. Absolutely diva look.

**Here is Akasha at a presentation of her book: Sectrets to Shine Through the Noice. A mid day look with every detail on point. An image of warm success and great sense of an empowering style.
What cannot miss from your wardrobe?
I love a gorgeous necklace. I feel that it frames the face and helps bring out natural confidence, beauty and grace.
Your favorite pair of shoes and why?
My favorite pair of shoes is a vintage pair of patent stiletto pumps that adds confidence to any entrance.
What is your style, and what you cannot stand in people, inside and out?
My style is fun and glamorous with a touch of vintage elegance.
I would love to be a mélange of Lady Gaga and Grace Kelly of the literary and film world.
I greatly value authenticity and kindness. I believe it is still fun to be fashionable, stylish and glamorous without being fake
. Well, I love to add lashes and hair extensions sometime, but I do it in the name of fun! I do not appreciate it backstabbing or body shaming of anyone, inside, outside or behind anyone’s back.

**Well, this is vintage, glamourous empowering style in action!
What is your fashion mantra?
My fashion mantra is: Know your worth and feel good wearing it!
What is that magic word that speaks about you?
Luminescent. I love how it captures inner shine and brightness. When my Italian friends ask me how I am, I will usually replay “abbastanza luminosa”.(“Rather bright” or “bright enough”.)

What is a wish that you would commit to grant this year to someone paying it forward?
I have committed to helping build awareness for the need for teen cancer units, and the money we raise is helping to build teen cancer units. Chicago is in the process of building 2 teen cancer units; I have also committed to helping to build one in St. Paul and Minneapolis where I grew up and went to college.
For The Wishwall, Simonetta invited me to write about future entrepreneurs and mentoring creatives with business and branding skills. I will be contributing with a category where we can share all about Future Entrepreneurs, so please join us.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to talk fashion, self-worth, dreams and ways we can shine through the noise!
**Thank you my dear Akasha for bringing your mission, dreams and fashion to inspire and uplift entrepreneurs. I am looking forward to “Future Entrepreneurs” to be a point of attraction and inspiration to many future entrepreneurs. I am committed with you to empoweing them, in style.
As always, make your wishes come true.
