New York Fashion Week 2016 was so special to me. As The Wishmaker I had  the opportunity to be Topmodel for an amazing brand: DAIR DESIGN. Dair takes the name after his designer, Odair Pereira, Dutch born and bread, Millennial, getting international at  #NYFW16 and gaining lots of attention due to his talent and his line that screams “DAIR”.

Organized by Art Heart Fashion in collaboration with FNL Network , the Dair show it is something you are proud to be part of as an artist and is amusing to watch as a viewer. As a model, Odair makes you feel like the queen of queens. He goes around every model with grace, scissors and ribbons to costume made the dress around her/his body.

As a Fashion Icon to me fashion has to be art, and when I saw Odair transforming a beautiful dress into a jacket simply by putting it upside down, he got me forever. All the models backstage applauded him. We were so exited to do his show, before going out on the catwalk he wanted to talk to all of us: “This collection took us seven months of work and now in five minutes the show will be done. I want you to have fun, I want you to be queens, to be sexy, to feel beautiful. Enjoy it. If you fall please just smile to the camera and pretend that was your best move, turn yourself on your side and keep on being gorgeous.”

We all were in love with him. He put us in the right order, I was the number four. I wore a beautiful chiffon mermaid long dress, light pink powder colored, with an elegant wedge and lots of details to make you feel so special. Odair gave me a high heels shoes with gold studs in honor of Lady Gaga. We put a lot of hair spray under the shoes so that they will not be slippery. Well, I did my catwalk and it was phenomenal, the show was great and I did feel like Lady Gaga.

When we finished I told him that because he wanted me to model for him I was able to make a wish come true. I brought with me an amazing woman who is a cancer survivor: Gloria. She is a fighter and can inspire others so much. He  looked at me touchingly saying that the entire line is honor of his best friend that died of cancer. Thanks to this clothing line someone had a wish come true and can give courage to other cancer survivors to keep on fighting. This is something that both moved us and made us proud, and the show at that point became even more special.

**Who are you and what is the name of your business?

I am Odair Pereira, a fashion designer and e creative director and I have my own brand called DAIRdesign

**What is your brand about?

DAIR design is a haute couture fashion brand with a casual detail and is known for being different, unique and getting the best out of yourself. DAIR design emphasizes that all clothing needs to visualize your true identity, which makes you stand out at all times. My personal challenge is to translate my vision to different sizes and cultures, in the world of DAIR design everyone is equal and beautiful in their own special way. DAIR design collection fits it all! As a designer I create center of attention pieces that make you as an individual shine.

**What is your mission?

My mission is to become a world wide known brand who stands for delivering exclusive and unique designs in different sizes which can be worn all over the world. Clothing is more than fabric, it’s about YOU and how you feel. Different silhouettes and different materials combined with personality, entertainment, service and image are my keys to success.

**Are you a Millennial? What do you think about Millennials?

Yes I am a Millennial. I think we are hard working people who are dedicated to make our dreams come true. As a Millennial I want to inspire people to be the best of themselves.

**If you are here it means that you love fashion. Why?

I love how it makes people feel when they find that special DAIR design. I love the feeling of being inspired, in and out. I love the process, the feeling you have to have traveled the world in cultures but in reality your are just in my studio. That is fashion to me and that is why I love it.

**What is your fashion mantra?

BE yourself and take it to the max!

**What is that magic world that speaks about you, and only you can show it to our readers?

The inspiration I want to give to DAIR to be you! BE yourself and take it to the max! And don’t be afraid to OWN it in every moment. DAIR to be different, DAIR to be first and DAIR to be You! DAIR collection fits it all because of its mission.

**What is a wish that you would commit to granting this year to someone by paying it forward?

I would wish to advice/help young creative people in Cape Verde to realize their dreams. After that I want to build bridges between young people all over the world who want to make their talent their job.
