Empowering Style. The Celebrity Wishmaker Simonetta Lein Meets Image Consultant Francine Kerckhaert

Social media can truly show the world who you are and what you do. It enables people to inspire others via themselves and or their businesses. A social media account gains a following if it has a clear message, well thought out content, and pictures of the highest quality. There has to be an overall common theme, a focus that drives people to remember your page and subsequently about you.
Today I have with me a woman that definitely has all of these attributes: Francine Kerckhaert. She is an image consultant and her brand is called My Life In Colors. Through her Instagram posts you can really see “her life in colors” – a consistent theme that she scrupulously adheres to which makes her photos immediately stand out and are instantly recognizable as hers.
Who are you and what is the name of your business?
I’m Francine Kerckhaert, I’m a thirty something business woman, wife and mommy of two girls.
In my professional life I’m the founder and director of an image consultancy business. I focus on every aspect of the visual presence, and specific aspects of the verbal and behavioral impressions people make. Fashion is the easy part for my team. I work with 3 stylists and 2 hair and make-up artists. The differentiator is our ability to dig deeper. After ten years our fashion division continues to expand and I really feel passionate about my career. I love teaching color, style and image at the Fashion Academy where I’m the professor of the style campus. I also give lectures about fashion blogging and social media at the ‘Ondernemerschool’ and at several PR bureaus in Belgium.
I help people use social media to get the results they want for their business. I started teaching this class a year ago. the workshops are designed to teach users social media best practices, short cuts, tools, and techniques for creating an effective social media presence.
My passion is designing crystal jewellery. I was able to turn my hobby into a business; I have my own line since 2014.
What is your brand about?
Mylifeincolors_jewellery is style, quality and power. My jewellery is made for confident woman who are comfortable in their own skin. My type of client knows what’s “in fashion” but translates the trends to suit her personal style. She loves to dress up, is elegant and classy. She could be 18 or 78 yrs old. For example: Lot’s of high street brands are selling chokers, -the thick fabric ones-which are such a statement this season. I made a variation of this style in Swarovski crystals on 24K gold which makes the whole look much more classy.

What is your mission?
I use the term ‘Image Consultant’ but I am much more than what this implies because I use clothes and personal style as a way of waking you up to your true self. My approach isn’t about ‘disguising problem areas’ or ‘following fashion’ but rather supporting you to look like your true self. In this way you become more authentic and self-aware, with genuine self-esteem and calm self-confidence. When your clothes express your unique individuality as a soul and as a human being, you’re more likely to attract the right people and the right opportunities. In this way you have inner and outer integrity and your clothes become a means to an end and not and end in themselves.
As an image consultant you get to make someone feel good about themselves instantly, and that’s truly a mission.

Ar e you a Millennial? What do you think about Millennials?
Yes I am. Apparently Millennials are addicted to their phones. They don’t like working. They want to share everything on social media. They like socialism. They have short attention spans. They are narcissistic. And lazy. And entitled. And practically homeless
I’m raising 2 kids and 2 businesses so the only thing that makes me a millennial is the iPhone addiction, haha!
**Well, thank you for putting together all the stereotypes about MillennialsI have however, proven many times through my collaborations with other fellow Millennials that the exact opposite is true. This is another example and living proof that the conventions about the Millennial generation are kind of inaccurate.
If you are here it means that you love fashion. Why?
It’s very simple: Because it’s a form of self-expression.
What cannot miss from your wardrobe?
My colorful bags. Each one of them is special to me. They all have a special emotional value. I got my pink Chanel the day I found out I was pregnant. I got my red Chanel after a business milestone which I was very proud of, it reminds me to make your dreams happen.

**Here is my “Empowering Style” for Francine, refined and so full of life that inspires.

**I adore these striped colors. Stripes are big this Summer and Francine gave her personal touch adding colorful vibes. Adorable.

**Here that little bag is the queen, showing that accessories can be a predominant part of a successful look.

**Yellow and pink together are definitely the look to use if you want to stand out and be remembered. Her colors are always vibrant and exemplary. In my opinion this communicates a lot of inspiration.
Your favorite pair of shoes and why?
My D&G shoes because I got them during a trip to Milan with three wonderful ladies, very inspirational ‘mompreneurs’ I met on Instagram last year.

What is your style, and what you cannot stand in people, inside and out?
I’m a lover of all things colorful, chic and ladylike.
What is your fashion mantra?
Anything but black!
What is that magic word that speaks about you?
Authenticity. One of the things I am most proud of when it comes to my business is the authenticity that I have brought to it.
When it comes to who we are, you get the real me whether it is over the internet or in person. By being true to who we are and what our values are, we are able to honor the importance of treating others with honesty, genuineness, and authenticity every single day.
And let’s be real, isn’t that what being a good business owner (and person) is all about?
What is a wish that you would commit to grant this year to someone paying it forward?
Successful people often had amazing partners and friends. I strive to do great things but can’t do it alone – I surround myself with people that will inspire and blow me away every time we talk. The people you meet in life are often the ones to break you out of a rut, show you a different path, or teach you something new. I think people are the key to living an inspired life. It’s vital you surround yourself with inspiring people if you want an inspired life. Every day I’m surrounded by amazing people who inspire me, and who bring the best out of me. It feels absolutely amazing, and I’m deeply grateful for it. I wish this coming year to meet some new friends all over the world and connect on a deeper level.
**Thank you my dear Francine, I love everything you stand for and the magic that emanates from your pictures. I think we are connecting on a deeper level, colors can do that.
As always, make your wishes come true.
