Social media has become one of my favorite tools to meet the coolest people. I am naturally intrigued by talented and kind human beings and I have a shocking truth to reveal: as much as the media wants to only show us the bad side of life, the nice and good men and women are still here with us: people who are respectful and genuine and also very knoledgable about the power of social media and how to use it wisely and profesionally. Please, today meet one of these souls, a Millennial Style Influencer, boss girl, and mama Valeria Arizzi, AKA Coco En la Vie En Rose.

Who are you and what is your blog about?

My name is Valeria Arizzi, founder of the fashion and beauty blog Coco et La vie en rose.
I like to think of my blog as a friendly place where all women are invited to find what feels good for them. More than a fashion magazine, Coco et la vie en rose is a pink haven where I share fashion and beauty tips, along with my own style and personal challenges.
I’m also an author for Glamour Italia , where I regularly post articles about beauty trends and make-up tutorials.
Lately I’ve been more and more active on Instagram, as a style influencer. On @cocolavieenros e I share my looks, fashion tips, beauty reviews. I also chat a lot with girls and women who are looking for a friendly image consultant.

What’s the mission of your blog Coco et La vie en rose?

Ever since I founded my fashion and beauty blog, I’ve been working with a mission: help all women feel good about the way they look as a means of empowerment .
This is what I do, in person and online: I encourage women to look good as a way to feel good. I know what it means because I’m not the typical fashion influencer with a perfect body and glamorous life. I’m one of these: a working mom with a passion for fashion and beauty.

Are you a Millennial? What do you think about Millennials?

I am a millenial by year of birth, but I feel more like a hybrid. Let’s say I was not born with a smartphone in my hands, but I’ve become addicted to social media over the last ten yearsI think Millenials hold all the power provided by modern technology. It’s up to them to use it wisely.

If you are here it means that you love fashion. Why?

Fashion is fun! What we wear and how we look can mirror our personality, our mood, our attitude towards life. Viceversa, we can use fashion to cheer ourselves up, to feel prettier on a rainy day, to make a statement.

Please show us your “Empowering Style”

What cannot miss from your wardrobe?

Scarves and foulards. I style them in every possible way: in my hair, as a belt, knotted to my wrist or to simply give more pizzazz to a classic bag.

Your favorite pair of shoes and why?

This one is tough! I have too many favorites! Let’s see… There’s one pair of suede sandals made in Italy by Cinti. I love them because they have a clean yet sexy silhouette which is very flattering both on my feet and figure.

What is your style, and what can you not stand in people, inside and out?

My style is versatile, depending on the occasion and on my mood. I like experimenting with new styles, but I always try to keep it chic. I can’t stand vulgarity, inside and out.

What is your fashion mantra?

Elegance is the only beauty that never fades, to quote my all time favourite fashion icon
(Audrey Hepburn).

What is that magic word that speaks about you?

I believe in the power of kindness. I try to spread as much kindness as I’m capable of.

What is a w ish that you would commit to grant this year to someone paying it
forward?

I’m going to take good care of the girls and women who reach out to me for advice. It takes so little to make a person feel special and loved! I’m doing whatever I can to make it happen.

I know you are facing one of your greatest challenges. Would you like to explain?

I’ve been living my greatest challenge for the past 7 years. After my mother died of ovarian cancer at 53, I took a DNA test which came back positive for the BRCA2 genetic mutation. When you are BRCA2 positive your chances of developing both ovarian and breast cancer are VERY high. I have decided not to bury my head in the sand and do
whatever it takes to be there for my daughter and my husband. Which means undergoing prophylactic surgeries coupled with close monitoring. Now I’m focused on raising awareness about the BRCA genetic mutations, because knowledge has the power to save lives.

#Water ForThe People Project Funded by The WishWall Foundation 2024. #AWishGrantedInProgress The rural population of Muwanga in kiboga district Uganda draws their water from unprotected springs or swamps located from 300 to 600 meters (328 to 656 yards) from the villages or from hand-dug wells, locally known as (bidiba). The (bidiba) are primitive wells with an average depth of about six meters and with a diameter about the size of a large truck tire and uncovered at the top. The water collected from swamps (bidiba) is used for bathing, washing clothes, cooking and drinking, also shared, by cows, goats, hens and dogs Unfortunately, the shared use of swamps, (bidiba),springs for washing laundry, bathing and cooking is unsanitary and promotes a number of health problems. According to 2021 clinical data/information obtained from mama Tendo who owns a local clinic here in Kigoma Village most of the sick patients she treats suffer from diarrhea, typhoid, dysentery and intestinal stomach aches. The WishwallFoundation is Funding Muwanga Development Association a local organisation to establish a modren Well to provide safe-clean water the people of kiboga in Uganda. The president of Muwanga Development Association said “ the local people here have contracted diseases from these dirty water sources for many years” but now friends from The WishwallFoundation have done them good” A BIG THANK YOU.

In the past few weeks, we have embarked on a renewed health project with the WishWall Foundation to support good health and well-being. We have made substantial progress with renovating the primary health care center. As a result of the tireless work of skilled labor, we have completed the flooring, replaced wooden window outlets with Aluminium windows, and fixed leakages on the roof. Also, we are happy to commence the reconstruction of the toilet facility, which will be completed in a few weeks. At the end of the toilet construction, we shall begin the final phase of painting and donating drugs and some medical equipment to the facility.

Title: Meet Prinicipal Claris Madame Claris played soccer with KGSA back in the early 2000s before it evolved into a free high school for girls. She was an amazing goalkeeper and still enjoys playing ⚽️ with her students. Claris has been teaching math and geography for over ten years at the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy and leads the school as Principal. Last year, the Executive Director of iRead To Live Initiatve, Jacob Sule accompanied by Ayisat Abiona , Program Manager of iRead visited some schools in Osun State Nigeria as part of their intervention for literacy & efforts to transforming education in Nigeria. They were displeased by what they saw and reached out to their partners, the WishWall Foundation for support. The Founder of WishWall Foundation, Ms Simonetta Lein graciously approved funding for the renovation of the library. iRead Initiative hired skilled labors for the reconstruction of the external Walls , painters to paint the facility and artisans to build new books shelves, and tables. Today... From all of us at iRead, we are super excited and grateful to the WishWall Foundation to be able to do this, support literacy and transform education in Osun State Nigeria. Today is Equal Pay Day! Sixty years after it became illegal to pay men more than women for similar work, we’re still playing catch up in the USA. Wishwall believes that women deserve equal pay for equal work! It’s disappointing that women are still paid less than men across all industries. Towering over the tin roof homes in Kibera, the new dormitory at the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy (KGSA) is the pride of the Makina neighborhood. This state of the art three story facility has a rooftop soccer field that just recently began providing a safe place for girls to study, eat, sleep (and dream). KGSA is a free, holistic high school that serves 130 girls every year located in the largest informal settlement – the largest slum – in Africa. Almost a million people live in a region the size of New York City’s Central Park with no running water, bathrooms or reliable electricity in their homes. While the educational gender gap has been decreasing in Sub-Saharan Africa, there’s still room for improvement. The World Economic Forum in 2022, identified that amount of girls in lower and upper secondary levels is not at the same rate as their male peers. In a country, where 44% of girls don't finish high school, the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy is filling a tremendous need for girls and their families in Kenya. Unlike the USA, public high school isn’t free in Kenya. Many families can’t afford to pay for the high school tuition, uniforms, books, school supplies and other fees for their children, so boys often get preferential treatment leaving the girls behind. Many girls become teen brides and teen mothers depending on men to support them. Research shows that girls who complete high school earn more, marry later and have less children. That’s why KGSA’s mission is so important! KGSA educates 130+ girls a year giving girls the opportunity to shape their future and break the cycle of poverty. Today is the 10th annual International Day of the Girl. We celebrate Aisha and the other 135 girls studying at KGSA and the 370 girls who have graduated through the years. When we invest in girls, we transform their lives and enable them to uplift everyone and everything around them breaking the cycle of poverty for themselves, their families and their communities.
