A World Free of HIV Infection and Stigma

HIV is one of the most stigmatized medical conditions. In the eyes of many it is synonymous with shame and social degradation. While it is true that much effort in recent years has been focused upon dampening this harmful rhetoric, significant progress still needs to be made in this area. Moreover, the actual transmission of HIV should be taken more seriously, be it through prevention education, care services, or vaccine development.
Until There's A Cure is a non-profit organization based in the Bay Area which advocates on these very issues. One powerful tool they use to promote HIV awareness and defend against HIV stigma is The Bracelet, an accessory which at once symbolizes unity in the face of this enormous public health crisis and also actively raises funds which directly support those afflicted with HIV.
