Greening the Sahel
Date Published:
We have always been concerned about the impact of climate change on our planet. One of the most affected regions is the Sahel, a strip of land that stretches across Africa, where drought and desertification are a constant threat. We believe that planting trees can play a crucial role in combating this issue. In Mali, where we have had the opportunity to work with local communities, we have seen firsthand the devastating effects of deforestation. The soil is eroded, water sources are depleted, and the livelihoods of local people are threatened.
Our wish is to organize a massive tree-planting campaign in Mali, with a goal of planting 50,000 trees in just one year. This may seem like a daunting task, but we believe that with the right support and resources, it's achievable. We envision a collaborative effort between local communities, NGOs, and government agencies to identify areas that need reforestation and to provide training and tools for the local population to take ownership of the project.
We wish to make our vision a reality by organizing a massive tree-planting campaign in Mali, with a goal of planting 50,000 trees in just one year. We hope to bring together stakeholders from various sectors to work together towards this goal, and to provide support and resources to local communities to ensure their success. We believe that this project will not only help to combat climate change and restore ecosystems in Mali, but also provide economic opportunities and improve the livelihoods of local people.
