Intentions over Goals. As we get ready to leave 2020, Iâ€™ve been personally working on setting intentions daily. Instead of writing down a goal of mine, Iâ€™m writing down my intentions. My wish and intentions for the collective are, setting the intention of unity, clarity, peace, love and light. When youâ€™re thinking about leaving 2020, what were you maybe intentional about that you can move forward with in the new year? What intentions can you set for yourself and for the world as a whole? Setting intentions in my opinion is way more important than goals. Intentions have helped me not only to see things more clearly but tap into my true self and my goals within those intentions. Sending love and beautiful intentions for 2021

Vulnerable communities, in particular, are disproportionately affected by climate change. Women happen to be one of those vulnerable groups. Even if they contribute extraordinarily to restoration initiatives, existing social norms and secondary treatment ensure they don’t get the benefits of their labor. Dream International in partnership with Wishwall Foundation, women have to undergo training and environmental education, covering long-term tree care, sustainable farming and foraging practices, and the basics of running a business of their own. It’s also an excellent opportunity for youth because they can start early and become experts much sooner than their previous generations. Thank you wish wall foundation for this unique opportunity.

We are pleased to announce that through the generous support of WISHWALL FOUNDATION, the refurbishing of classroom desks for the pupils of Kigoma Primary School has been well accomplished. This is an ongoing endeavor in our effort to better the educational facilities and make sure that the students have a friendly learning environment. These refurbished desks shall provide more comfort and safety for pupils. Improving organization in the classroom, using the space inside the classroom. Enhance the learning experience of students as a whole. Dream International in partnership with the wishwall foundation is implementing a Project to create green consciousness among school going children through a mind-set change by involving them in seedlings production and plantation. Environmental conservation is delivered as an experience that is deeply imprinted in each child’s mind rather than curriculum based. School Tree Planting projects help connect students to the benefits of trees and foster environmental stewardship.

The well-being of our environment is the foundation of our society. When vital ecosystems become endangered, we drastically increase the risk of food insecurity, poverty, and supply chain disruptions. To alleviate these environmental and financial risks, Dream International in partnership with The Wishwall Foundation is implementing Nature-Based Solutions such as agroforestry and regenerative agriculture. By strategically planting trees alongside crops and livestock, agroforestry contributes to the livelihoods of local farmers while also balancing ecosystems and agricultural systems. An amazing aspect of agroforestry is its flexibility across different climates and landscapes. Best practices involve selecting native tree species like Musizi trees that benefit the local context, targeting different impacts based on the specific needs of the land—such as enhancing biodiversity, regenerating soils, preserving water sources, and preventing erosion.

Successful agroforestry accomplishes more than just mitigating climate change and revitalizing the natural environment.It actively improves the livelihood of farmers by providing increased resilience for crop production, as well as generating opportunities for diversifying revenue streams. This project will work with Marginalised women, children in school, youth, people with disabilities, Indigenous Peoples. These are the groups society forgets, but they are amazing agents of change in the fight against the climate crisis

We’re thrilled to announce the official progression of our Sustainable school Garden Project at Green valley primary school nansana ! On the 1st of October we kicked off our journey to transform the small school space into a thriving garden, promoting sustainable agriculture , making availability of nutritious foods and reducing plastic waste. Many tree products that benefit women are collected from wild populations in forests, woodlands/ rangelands, parklands or on farms. With the increase in population, some of the products are becoming scarce and women have to walk longer distances. Promoting participatory agroforestry will therefore enable integration of these valuable species into appropriate farming systems.Thank you Wishwall Foundation for the incredible work you doing to the communities of Rwenzori mountains in Western Uganda

I would like to take this opportunity to thank THE WISH WALL FOUNDATION for the tremendous support they have given to us as you see the see the school is on going the renovation, This renovation is more than just a physical a make up it represents the real commitment to provide safe quality education and safe inspiration students. In our small school village of Kigoma , today a group of children gathered under a majestic tree, eager to learn. With no classroom or resources, their dedicated teacher, Mrs. Betty, used the tree’s shade as their classroom. The children sat on the dry earth, their faces lit with excitement. As Mrs. Betty taught, the children wrote in the dust with sticks, practicing their alphabet and arithmetic. The wind whispered secrets through the leaves, and the children’s laughter echoed through the village. Thank you for this commitment from the WishwallFoundation especially Director Lien as, the classroom is undergoing fundamental renovation and upgrade for better learning spaces. One child, Sarah, was particularly eager. She practiced writing her name in the dust, her eyes shining with pride. Mrs. Betty smiled, knowing that Sarah’s determination would take him far.

School gardens can serve as mini ecosystems, attracting a variety of plant species. By creating habitats for different creatures, children learn about the importance of diversity in sustaining a balanced environment. #EducationForThePeople The renovation team arrived, the atmosphere was electric. The normally quiet school grounds were abuzz with activity. Children and teachers gathered to witness the start of what they hoped would be a transformative journey. The anticipation was palpable as they eagerly awaited the first signs of change. As the workers unloaded tools and equipment, the air was filled with a mix of curiosity and joy. Children clung to the fence, their eyes wide with wonder as they watched the construction materials being set up. #EducationForThePeople #WishGranted The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a golden hue over the quaint town of Kiboga. The community was buzzing with excitement as today marked the beginning of a much-anticipated journey—the renovation of Kigoma Primary School. The school’s worn-out walls and dilapidated infrastructure were a stark contrast to the vibrant spirit of the community. Everyone knew that this renovation was more than just a physical transformation and it was a beacon of hope for better education and a brighter future. The school’s main hall, a large room that had seen many assemblies, was chosen as the venue for the kick-off meeting. Despite its age, the hall was filled with an air of optimism. Rows of chairs were neatly arranged, a projector was set up, and the walls were adorned with colorful posters showcasing the school’s history and the renovation plans. Stakeholders from all walks of life began to trickle in. Parents, teachers, local government officials, representatives from the Muwanga Development Association, and a few local business owners took their seats, chatting animatedly about the upcoming project. At the front of the room stood Mr. John Lusoke, the headmaster of Kigoma Primary School. With a warm smile, he called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. “Today marks a significant milestone in our journey,” he began. “Our beloved school is not just a place of learning it’s a cornerstone of our community impacting over 1,000 students. This renovation project is a collective effort and has be waited for over 25 years, and I am thrilled to see so many of you here today. Thank you the WISH WALL FOUNDATION for the support.

Agroforestry can generate multiple livelihood and environmental benefits, as it can help to mitigate climate change and help farmers to adapt to extreme and variable weather. In this project, Agroforestry has supported ecosystem services, such as regulation of water and nutrient cycling in soils – leading to for example increased soil fertility, reduced soil erosion and flood and pest control. Smallholder farmers have also benefited from agroforestry through increased farm productivity, diversified produce and reduction of external inputs.

Welcome my name is Sentamu Ronald the Executive Director of Muwanga Development Association a community led organisation located in kiboga district Uganda. We thank the WISHWALLFOUDATION for the tremendous support given to us. We started the construction of the spring well #Water for the People project with meeting the stakeholders and we discussed the way forward of building the spring. Later we bought the materials to the ground, and construction work began. Today we are proud of The WISHWALL FOUNDATION for the support because the community is having access to clean water. No more sickness related to drinking contaminated water

Young children collect firewood from different communitiies.This affects their learning time. Women and girls regularly walk long distances, sometimes alone, at least once a day to collect firewood for cooking and to sell. The threat of physical harm or rape from bad people in communities while collecting firewood is one of their top concerns. Wishwall Foundation in partnership with Dream International is implementing agroforestry project as a better alternative for firewood collection by girls: Pruning multipurpose trees on farms can provide households with an affordable and convenient source of firewood. It would also reduce the time, human energy and money that now goes into collecting firewood from off-farm locations such as forests. Firewood as a cooking and heating energy allows people to cook food, boil water and warm their houses. Lack of affordable and convenient cooking and heating energy negatively impacts on human wellbeing -nutrition, health, workload on women and the girl children and the environment. Agroforestry presents an opportunity to satisfy household needs in an affordable and environmentally sustainable way. Thank you Wishwall Foundation for this Innovation in Uganda

#WaterForThePeople After clearing the bushes and scavetting the ground in the past week, this week we have started collecting and transporting the materials from the mining sites to the water construction site. Local Hard-Core Stone’s being uploaded on the truck to be taken to the site. The work to bring fresh potable #water has begun

#Water ForThe People Project Funded by The WishWall Foundation 2024. #AWishGrantedInProgress The rural population of Muwanga in kiboga district Uganda draws their water from unprotected springs or swamps located from 300 to 600 meters (328 to 656 yards) from the villages or from hand-dug wells, locally known as (bidiba). The (bidiba) are primitive wells with an average depth of about six meters and with a diameter about the size of a large truck tire and uncovered at the top. The water collected from swamps (bidiba) is used for bathing, washing clothes, cooking and drinking, also shared, by cows, goats, hens and dogs Unfortunately, the shared use of swamps, (bidiba),springs for washing laundry, bathing and cooking is unsanitary and promotes a number of health problems. According to 2021 clinical data/information obtained from mama Tendo who owns a local clinic here in Kigoma Village most of the sick patients she treats suffer from diarrhea, typhoid, dysentery and intestinal stomach aches. The WishwallFoundation is Funding Muwanga Development Association a local organisation to establish a modren Well to provide safe-clean water the people of kiboga in Uganda. The president of Muwanga Development Association said “ the local people here have contracted diseases from these dirty water sources for many years” but now friends from The WishwallFoundation have done them good” A BIG THANK YOU.
