PURCHASE OF A WALK BEHIND TACTOR (POWER TILLER)
Date Published:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Greetings from Kisonko Development Association here in Uganda.
Kisonko Development Association is a rural Community Based Organisation located in Mijwala Sub-county, Uganda East Africa.
Our mission is to provide technical agricultural assistance and support to the rural poor farmers especially women and orphans and make them realize their full potential and dreams of fighting poverty, diseases, illiteracy and hunger.
We have been having ten oxen and practicing ox-ploughing for the rural poor farmers for three years. Unfortunately, all our oxen developed foot and mouth diseases and died. This has forced us to plan to use modern and simple methods of farming. We have finished our search in the use of Walk behind Tractor/Hand Tractor for higher agricultural output and relieve rural farmers from backbreaking using a hand hoe.
We want to purchase The Power Tiller/Walk behind tractor which has been recommended by the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) to replace the oxen ploughing technology. The Power Tiller Technology will be: Ploughing, Harrowing, Ridging, Weeding, Water Pumping, Transporting and Agro-Processing (Maize shelling and milling) for at least 100 Rural Farmers in Mijwala Sub-County.
The Total cost of the Power Tiller and six accessories will be $ 7,200 and we are able to contribute $1,200 to meet costs of fuel and maintenance for the first 100 hactares. Farmers will be meeting costs of fuel, maintenance, and depreciation. Some little money will also be saved every season to buy a full Mersey Ferguson tractor after five years.
Kisonko Development Association is in dire need of $6,000 to be in position to purchase the power Tiller and needs your support.
It is for this reason that we are requesting you to render us a hand. We shall be very grateful for your kind action.
Attached is the photo of the power tiller showing some of it functions.
We remain waiting for your reply.
Sincerely Yours,
John Mukisa (MR)
