Free Spay and Neuter for Animals in Need

The Halifax SPCA is a nonprofit organization that focuses on animal welfare and rescue in Halifax County, Virginia. We are only able to do what we do each day because of the generous giving of our donors. Unfortunately, since the pandemic, we have seen that less and less community members can afford to spay and neuter their pets. This has caused a huge increase in the number of homeless pets coming into the local shelter. We are trying to save as many as we can, but it is an uphill battle. We are shifting our focus to spay and neuter initiatives. We are trying to help local community members with spay and neuter costs, and have been giving vouchers for up to $100 per pet. Recently, we partnered with the PETA Spay/Neuter van to come to Halifax County on April 12th, 2024. We were able to provide free spay/neuter services for 46 cats and 40 dogs in our community, for a total cost of $5,570.00. We would absolutely LOVE to be able to offer free spay and neuter to a limited number of people in our community again! This is our hopeful wish and we would love any assistance in making our wish come true so that we can save as many animals lives as possible!
