Represent WV in Politics

Date Published: 6/15/2016

In November 2013, US Senator Bernie Sanders invited me to speak on a panel with doctors about how poverty is a death sentence in America. In McDowell County, West Virginia, where I was born and raised, people are dying the youngest in our country.

Last month, Bernie and I organized a meeting in McDowell at a foodbank with 250 people. I spoke on the panel & introduced Bernie.

My sister stood up and spoke her truths too! It took me three years to get her to go to a political meeting. Then my sister & I rode with the press to the rally Bernie had in Charleston, WV & I was fortunate to introduce him there as "the next, Lord Willin' President of the United States!"

On Wednesday, I spoke with the Democratic National Committee about ways to reduce poverty in America. (CSPAN recorded it). Â Consequently, Bernie's campaign appointed me to serve as a WV Platform Committee Member in Orlando from July 7-10, 2016 to work on drafting the Democrat Party Platform to be voted on by the Delegates at the National Convention in Philadelphia the end of July! If enough money is raised, I'll be able to attend both events.

Please give what you feel comfortable to help this once little Twin Branch Holler girl's political dreams come true! We can change our country together.

God Bless You!
