Do What You Love

My partner went out of town this week. While she's been on vacation I've been through a wave of emotions. It was difficult to fall asleep the first few nights she has been gone. I miss laughing and being silly with her. All of a sudden I feel like a lost dog looking for his home.
While I love and miss my partner greatly, I'm thrilled to have some much needed alone time. I have been able to have dinner with my parents, see old friends and just do what I want to do. When you're with a partner day in and day out you don't realize how much you compromise for them.
When you love someone, you don't mind compromising. This leads to a healthy relationship. Having said that, you lose your individuality when you constantly compromise as well. Instead, you should find a way to strike a balance and find true happiness for yourself.
My wish is that you carve out an hour of alone time for yourself this week. It's important to do something that makes you feel good. Find something you enjoy like participating in a dance class, painting a piece of artwork for your apartment, hiking a local trail, or even watching your favorite sports team play. Once you do, you will start to see a difference.
Feel free to message me at Andrew@WeTakeNote.com to tell me what you enjoy doing in your free time.
Peace and Love,
