Kampe

In 2015, more than 300,000 girls and women around the world died from complications relating to pregnancy and childbirth. While the global maternal mortality rate has declined by a remarkable 44 per cent since 1990, 99 per cent of all maternal deaths occur in economically developing countries, with Sub-Saharan Africa like Nigeria.
The state of women’s healthcare in northern Nigeria is dire, and not confined to general demographic issues of fertility and maternal mortality. The prevalence of specific gynaecological conditions like breast and cervical cancer, and Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF), is on the rise among women in northern Nigeria.Â
As a result of low investment, Nigeria’s health system is less effective than other African countries’. From 2012 to 2015, Nigeria’s health budget consistently remained at around  6 per cent of the national budget; with a decrease to 4.64% in 2016.Â
Kampe (pidgin for Good Health) is aimed at creating platform for a free medical care for women and children living in the Northern Parts of Nigeria specifically Keffi, Nassarawa State.
We've run this projects for 4 years in different rural communities in Nigeria but funding has made it quite difficult to run our mobile health checks as we wish to. During health checks women and children have access to dispensary of free drugs and vaccinations which is always prescribed by qualified doctors.
We hope the Wish Wall Foundation can help it come through
