The Wish That Could Change So Many Lives

Date Published:

My wish is to build Covert Free Academy into a global resource that helps people recognize, understand, and heal from covert narcissistic abuse and coercive control. I want to educate survivors, families, professionals, employers, educators, healthcare providers, and legal advocates so fewer people have to suffer in silence simply because they didn't know what was happening to them.

This wish was born from my own story.

Just a few years ago, my life began unraveling in ways I never could have imagined. I escaped a relationship that left me questioning my reality and my worth. Like so many survivors of covert psychological abuse, I didn't have the language to explain what was happening. I only knew that I was disappearing little by little.

As I began to heal, I realized I was experiencing many of the same manipulative patterns in my workplace. The emotional toll became overwhelming. I took a year-long leave of absence because of severe depression, anxiety, and PTSD. When I returned, I wasn't protected from the same environment that had contributed to my decline. Within a week, I made the heartbreaking decision to leave a job I genuinely loved. Later, the manager I had reported was demoted and ultimately terminated after others came forward with similar allegations.

Not long afterward, I lost my best friend over a misunderstanding that wasn't true. Before the facts came to light, rumors had already spread, causing even more pain during one of the most difficult seasons of my life.

Then came the loss I never saw coming.

For forty years, my mother was my best friend. She was the one person I believed would always be there. She knew everything I had endured and how hard I was fighting to rebuild my life. Then, almost overnight, she became someone I no longer recognized. Losing that relationship was one of the deepest heartbreaks I have ever experienced.

There were many moments when I felt completely alone.

But I made a decision.

I refused to let my pain become my identity.

Instead, I chose to give it purpose.

That purpose became Covert Free Academy.

Every guide I write, every course I create, every video I record, and every conversation I have is driven by one goal: helping others recognize the warning signs sooner than I did so they can protect themselves, reclaim their lives, and know they are not crazy, weak, or alone.

My dream is to make this my full-time life's work.

I want to create free educational resources for survivors who cannot afford help. I want to develop professional training for therapists, healthcare providers, educators, law enforcement, employers, and attorneys so they can better recognize the hidden dynamics of coercive control and psychological abuse. I want to build tools that empower people with knowledge, because knowledge is often the first step toward freedom.

Asking for help has always been incredibly difficult for me.

I've spent most of my life believing I had to carry every burden on my own. But I've learned that if you never ask, the answer will always be no.

So today, I am asking.

Not because I'm looking for sympathy.

Not because I'm looking for someone else to build my dream.

I'm asking because I believe this mission is bigger than me.

Every donation helps me continue building Covert Free Academy and brings this vision one step closer to becoming a sustainable resource that can reach thousands, and someday, millions, of people whose lives may depend on understanding what they're experiencing.

More than anything, I want my children to see what resilience truly looks like.

I want them to know that success isn't measured by how many times life knocks you down, but by how many times you choose to stand back up. I want them to see that hard work, integrity, kindness, and hope matter. I want them to know that even when you feel completely alone, you keep moving forward. You keep believing. You keep choosing hope. You never allow your circumstances to define your future.

I don't believe my story ends with struggle.

I believe it ends with purpose.

It ends knowing I fought with everything I had.

It ends knowing I never gave up, even when giving up would have been easier.

It ends knowing I showed my children what resilience looks like.

And if sharing my story helps even one person feel seen, find hope, or recognize the abuse before it steals years of their life, then every painful chapter will have been transformed into something meaningful.

That is my wish.
