Extend a hand to a teacher in need
Hello, I wish you a good day - regardless of wherever and whenever you are.
My name is Phuong, and I'm from Vietnam. I have just finished two years of my Bachelors in TELF (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and am currently attending my third year. For two years, I have managed to maintain my overall GPA at 3.6 (Excellence) but it pains me to admit that my living situations have become such that I can no longer pursue my education without monetary concerns.
My family has four people (including myself), and we had been able to support our daily expenses with the money earned from my mother's small refreshment vendor until the Covid Pandemic hit. After which point, we have been struggling to earn any more than $5/day while the expenses keep piling on, especially with my sick parents having to take care of my little sister who suffered from Down Syndrome and myself going into university far from home.
I don't wish for my family to have any more financial burdens, so I started English tutoring the moment I entered university, but I've been recently diagnosed with Suppurative sinusitis and Tonsillitis with pus in the crypts so I haven't been able to teach as much as I used to. With the medical bills and my declining health, I might not be able to keep pursuing my education.
