Stay Connected during Social Distance

“Forget about the fast lane. If you really want to fly, just harness your power to your passion” ~ Oprah Winfrey

What a week of change! The largest cities in the U.S. have closed their restaurants and bars…and we’ve all been told we need to stay home to flatten the curve, and decrease the spread of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). It’s not only a disease that affects adults over 60; we’re not all part of this new world order.

First of all, check a reliable source when looking for the latest news on Coronavirus: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus

I know, it all changed so quickly!?! Just last week I was in Los Angeles and proud to complete a 5K race benefiting Teen Cancer USA. And the spread tripled very quickly. We’ve learned valuable lessons from Italy as they secluded themselves:

As we move into quarantine in the U.S., we rush to meet our basic needs (got milk and toilet paper?). Still, we’re social creature and we must stay hopeful and connected.

What can we do to make our lives more tolerable during this time of isolation?

I’ve heard valuable feedback from readers. They’ve said this is especially helpful. “The more reflective we are, the more effective we can be,” from my Shine Through the Noise series. Now is a great time to get your journal, or favorite writing app and turn a new page. Set a timer for 20 minutes, a write about how you feel now and how you want to feel after 2 weeks. It helps alleviate stress, and get in touch with your inner voice. Listen.

Here’s more inspo on that exercise:

I want to continue to celebrate women this Women’s History Month. Check out this brilliant list of firsts for more inspo:

Stay safe. Stay in touch with friends through apps, calls and the universal understand that we’re all in this together.

Thanks for reading and we welcome your comments below.
