Future Entrepreneurs: Power of Giving Back
Date Published: 9/13/2018
“Instead of drifting along like a leaf in a river, understand who you are and how you come across to people. Understand what kind of an impact you have on the people around you and the community around you and the world, so that when you go out, you can feel you have made a positive difference.†~Jane Fonda

Future Entrepreneurs: Power of Giving Back
As I’ve mentioned throughout our discussions on Future Entrepreneurs, we believe in smart business, brands on a mission and the power of giving back! I’ve been going gold during September's Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with Teen Cancer America (https://teencanceramerica.org) for 4 years with community partners joining in with events and photos from 5 states: Hawaii (we #GoGold with #MauiGold pineapples from https://www.takehomemaui.com), California, Illinois, Minnesota and Pennsylvania (headquarters for #TheWishwall)!
Teen Cancer America asks us to keep this mind: “…although it's very important to acknowledge all childhood cancers, teens also need their own space, teams, treatments and research separate from young children. Help us by raising awareness, donating and posting images to support young people going through cancer! #TeensGoGold #AYACancer #teencanceramerica #CCAM #GoGold
Teen Cancer America benefit update
A remarkable list of actors, philanthropists, musicians, and athletes came out to show support for The Who’s Roger Daltrey on August 17 to benefit Teen Cancer America and UCLA Health at the Backyard Concert 2018. The private and sold-out event featured musical performances from Teen Cancer America co-founder Roger Daltrey, Ed Sheeran, Van Morrison, Jewel and Don McLean; writer/director Judd Apatow was the MC for the evening’s festivities and joined Roger on “My Generationâ€. https://teencanceramerica.org/campaigns/events/backyard-concert-2018
I’ve partnered with Teen Cancer America to donate to proceeds from my #ShineThroughtheNoise book and brand projects; I’ve now donated $12,250 over the last 3 years (including TCA benefit concert donations). Thank you friends and readers in Los Angeles, Chicago, Minneapolis, Cannes and South Africa as we revealed the cover for my Shine Through the Noise sequel Shine Through the Noise: Spark Your Creativity in Branding & Business I’m continuing to partner with Teen Cancer America for this book. We’re in presales now with the official release date as October 15. Get your copy: https://www.amazon.in/Shine-Through-Noise-Creativity-Branding/dp/1628655690
I’ve enjoyed feedback from readers over the last 2 weeks. Speaking of gold, here’s a link to review your brand (and champion) choices by request: https://thewishwallfoundation.org/desideri/champion-choices.
I look forward to sharing #GoGold photos throughout September and we’d love to see yours too! Stay tuned for a beautiful giveaway coming up for our readers. Thank you for reading and we welcome your comments below.
