I wish to hear the sounds you take for granted

My name is Lian Kapp. I am 13 years old and a grade 8 student at Knysna High School. I live in Karatara, just between Sedgefield and Knysna. I live there with my Mother and sister, she’s 11 years old and a Grade 6 student at Karatara Primary School. Sadly my dad passed away suddenly on 2 September 2022 of a heart attack, so me, my mom and sister are all alone, but we love each other.
I was born with a genetic disorder, Muenke Syndrome (Craniosynostosis (CDC), where I was actually born without a “soft spot”and an abnormally shaped skull.
This does not affect my normal lifestyle but now that I am growing older, it is starting to effect my hearing. After-all my mom just thought I did not want to listen to her, but sadly I could not hear. Also with my birth and early childhood, I was faced with many other health issues. Shortly after my birth, I was rushed to hospital again with Jaundice, my life was literally at stage and at the age of 1 year I start developing eczemia, and it was ongoing until I reach primary school. At time it will occur, but we try to keep it under control.
When I got to high school my teacher noticed that I could not hear properly and as we only received Grands from the State my teacher and the school took it upon themselves to take me to the ear specialist. We found out that my ears only have 65% hearing and deteriorating faster that we thought.
I have to go for an operation on my ears and will also have to use hearing aids for me to function at a normal level as all my peers. The operation will be done at George Hospital, but the hearing aids is something very costly and we have pay that separately. My mom is a single stay at home mom, and try her best to meet all needs, but some things are very hard to come by.
Today I come to you in a humble way asking for something no-one ever want to do and that is asking for a donation for all the expenses which will occur fixing my ears.
I would really like to be able to hear normal sounds of all day life, hear my mom yelling at me doing my homework, hear my teachers giving lessons in class, and all the other sounds all of us take for granted every day.
If you can please open your kind hearts and help someone in need, I will so appreciate it.
No donation is too small, every Rand or cents will be put towards my hearing aids.
I really do appreciate it.
Thank you
Lian Kapp
