I wish for Safe and Hygienic School Toilets at Himalaya Secondary School, Solukhumbhu, Nepal

Date Published:

I hope to make a lasting impact on the Himalaya Secondary School, placed in the rural beauty of the Himalayas in Nepal. Established in 1965, this educational haven currently hosts 453 enthusiastic students (218 boys and 235 girls). However, students are facing sanitation issue: only two toilets are available, one for staff and another shared by all students.

This inadequate facility leads to annual student dropouts, particularly affecting girls who miss classes during their periods due to sanitation issues. The existing toilets also pose health risks, as boys and girls share the same facilities. The long lines and fights for limited toilet access discourage parents from sending their children to school.

My deepest wish is to construct three new, spacious, and separate toilet facilities for both male and female students. By doing so, I desire to create a more sanitary and inclusive environment, fostering the well-being and enhancing the educational experience of every student. Your invaluable support in this endeavor will play an important role in ensuring a brighter and healthier future for these aspiring minds.
