A Safe Harbour for Seafarers, Communities, and Nature
Date Published:
My wish is to transform a historic 105-year-old maritime welfare centre in Mombasa, Kenya, into Safe Harbour-East Africa's first integrates stewardship campus where seafarers, local communities, young people, and nature can thrive together.
The campus will provide affordable accommodation and wellbeing services for seafarers, create opportunities for youth through maritime and environmental education, restore biodiversity with botanical gardens and demonstrate sustainable solutions such as renewable energy and circular economy enterprise. This project will become a place of hope, learning, healing, and opportunity, benefiting thousands of people each year while protecting our coastal environment for future generations. With the Wishwall foundation's support, this wish can become a lasting legacy that inspires others to pay it forward by creating positive change for both people and the planet.
