U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has made life better, and along the way she has created a breathtaking legal legacy while becoming a pop culture icon. Without a definitive Ginsburg biography, the distinctive personal journey of this diminutive, quiet warrior's rise to the nation's highest court has been largely unknown, even to some of her.
Fortunately, Ruth Bader Ginsburg is still going strong as a Supreme Court justice, after already serving 26 years on the bench and some critics calling for her retirement. As the authors point out, RBG wasn't seeking notoriety (or cyber adoration, for that matter), but her dedication to ending discrimination has earned it for her anyway. In many ways, she’s larger than life, yet she's also very human. It’s a fascinating story, full of valuable life lessons, entertaining anecdotes (like the time Bader cut out of a White House dinner early to stick to her workout schedule).
Their book evolved into #RBGMovie, an intimate portrait of an unlikely rock star. With unprecedented access, the filmmakers explore how her early legal battles changed the world for women. #RBG the movie was nominated for an Academy Award this year, but didn’t win. The movie got standing O's when I saw it in theaters and continues to do so in homes across the nation. Definitely watch producers Betsy West and Julie Cohen's movie and skilled story telling of how RBG changed the world for women.

Brooklyn is re-naming a building after Ruth Bader Ginsburg in honor of her 86th birthday! Brooklyn borough president Eric Adams said. “[Ginsburg] has reached an iconic status equivalent to Serena Williams and Beyoncé’s fame.†Ginsburg, who was born and raised in the borough, was reportedly pleased to hear about the honor. The re-naming is part of a celebration of Ginsburg’s birthday, March 15, which will take place this Friday at Brooklyn’s Borough Hall, and will feature a screening of the celebrated documentary about her life, “RBG,†as well as a cake.
Word on the street is @NotoriousRBG has been transformed into an a museum exhibition. Look for it next in Philly, Chicago, NYC, Cleveland, and more…
