Help Keep It Cool

Last week I wrote about some safety tips for us to take of this hot summer. While I was drinking lots of water and driving safely, I realized that there is more I can do for my community.

I'd like to give a shoutout to all the firefighters working really hard this summer. It's the start of the wildfire season. Fires will be spreading quickly because of the wet winters along with the record heat. My wish is for all of us to be cautious of lighting open fires when we are camping this summer.

The other thing I noticed is the growth in the homeless community. I've also realized that there are more and more homeless women showing up on the streets. Dealing with this hot heat is hard enough - it seems like it's impossible to escape the heat. My wish is, if you have the means, to keep a case of water bottles in your car. If you see a homeless person in the heat, don't hesitate to give them a bottle and hopefully everyone can stay safe this summer.
