CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE REUSABLE SANITARY TOWELS, A SUSTAINABLE HEALTH AND HYGIENE SOLUTION AMONG SCHOOL GIRLS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS.

LIFE Project wishes to carry out a pilot project campaign to sensitize the community and four schools on how to make reusable sanitary pads through training women and the girl child in the four schools of Ruteete Secondary school, Ruteete Juniour Primary school, Mituuli Primary school and St. Kizito Primary School (1 secondary + 3 primary schools) and community members around Ruteete subcounty. The project will target pupils from Primary five to Primary seven and all the students of O’level (Senior one to four) in the targeted schools. The training will focus on teaching the targeted groups on how to make and care for the reusable sanitary pads and also distribute two kits to each beneficiary at a subsidized price.
The project will also incorporate in reproductive health trainings: Why women menstruate and how to manage the menstrual pains and cramps, HIV awareness and prevention, and how to avoid early/ un-wanted pregnancies.
