INTRODUCTION:
iREAD TO LIVE INITIATIVE is registered as an Incorporated Trustee with the Corporate Affairs Commission, Nigeria and works in collaboration with individuals, international organizations and government with focus on supplementing government’s efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goal of Quality Education 2030, engaging and developing the potentials through education.
The initiative was launched to facilitate and supplement Government Efforts in Achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of Quality Education in rural, urban areas and across all levels of education but with a laser-beam focus on Basic, Primary and Secondary Education in Nigeria.
As a global movement of young people working to advance progress on the actualization of the Sustainable development goals, we are creating spaces and opportunities to amplify children’ voices, scale youth innovations, showcase impact and harness the potential of student actors for continued involvement in global policy making, program design and active involvement in advocating for the sustainable development goals.
OUR VISION: To Supplement Government’s Efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of Quality Education in Nigeria.
OUR MISSION: Promoting and advocating for Quality and Equitable Education for all, connecting rural areas to urban areas by organizing academic oriented events and awareness campaigns.
Overview:
In Nigeria, the Girl-child is exposed to so many societal challenges, ranging from hawking on the streets, sex slaves, house maids and sales girls when they are supposed to be enrolled in schools. We want to change this narrative by ensuring that every Girl-child has equal access to quality education .This can be achieved by creating opportunities and platforms to interact with the girls.
Access to quality Education in rural communities in Nigeria , particularly for a Girl-child is becoming a huge challenge because, parents believe that girls will someday be married off to a man and as such, parents have deliberated refused to invest in their education. It is however important to note that the Girl-child in rural Nigeria schools does not possess the same opportunities with her peers as found in urban cities in Nigeria.
This project seeks to provide 100 School girls in Nigeria with Sanitary pads, Books, School Bags, and Toiletries. Each of the Girls will have a pack of these items worth of $20 each.
Challenge:
Every Nigerian regardless of her background deserves a better life and unhindered access to quality education. Though our kids may not have the privilege of studying in the best schools of in the United States of America or even the best school in Philadelphia, but I wish our kids (Girls) could have access to basic school supplies and learning resources.
Goal:
For the few girls who are still in school, it is my honest and sincere desire to keep then in school and provide them with Books, School bags, Sanitary pads and Toiletries. The first phase of this global collaboration with WishWallFoundation seeks to provide and support a Hundred (100) school girls with the above listed supplies to encourage them to remain in school and seek excellence.
Impacts:
