Shed the Ego to Stop the Discrimination
Date Published: 12/28/2016
Ahh the ego, we all have one. Mine has been quite large at times. Recently I found the power of shedding the ego. When you're able to take yourself out of a situation you can attack it in the best way possible. I found that I was saying I and me a lot (even in the first few sentences of this article). I found I was being petty in a lot of situations because my ego was hurt. Why be petty when I can spread love?
After asking myself this question I began to think: Once the ego is fed, you need more and more to feed it - and when you do feed it, it keeps growing. To remedy this, we should help one another overcome the self-centered power of the ego.
Even though this is easier said than done, I'm still hopeful. My wish is for people to let go of the ego to see how wonderful the world can be if we are all equal. I would love to help accomplish this wish by speaking to people one-on-one to get to the root of this issue. I believe we will stop discriminating against one another once we release our own self-importance. Let's come together - let's spread the love! This holiday season is the perfect time because "we are the ones we've been waiting for" as the talented Alice Walker once said. Are you ready to become the best version of yourself?
