HERITAGE TREES PLANTING
Date Published: 5/21/2024
In Kenya and in East Africa , most places are named after indigenous trees. However, if you visit those places you hardly get to find traces of those trees in the neighborhood. Those trees were cut down long time ago due to land cultivation, construction and other human activities. The current generation living in those areas cannot even identify the tree which their town or village is named after. Our wish is to go to the towns and villages named after trees and have those tree species planted in at least 3 prominent places i.e local administration office, in a school and at the town centre. Our wish is to start in Kiambu County of Kenya and plant at least 6000 indigenous tree, i.e 100 trees in the 60 Wards of the County.
