Champion Choices for Future Entrepreneurs
“Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character.†~ Alan Armstrong
It has been an amazing couple of months from covering the Oscars in LA, to celebrating the Cubs World Series, to being invited to go pro as a brand ambassador, being featured on Empower Your Style with The Wishmaker

And launching this Future Entrepreneur blog! These are in line with some of my goals, and an idea of why Simonetta invited me to write this “Future Entrepreneurs†blog.
First of all, it is always worth it to put some time into following your dream. Your future self will thank you! We all get busy in our daily lives, so we will be writing about some secrets to help and inspire entrepreneurs of today and tomorrow.
Champions Partners
I was grateful to attend the Choose Chicago partner event at the annual meeting where Tom Ricketts, the Chicago Cubs chairman and owner, spoke about how the team started from zero as they build their heroes. They spent thousands of hours scouting to build their team. Mr. Ricketts showed us the building block on the path to becoming champions. I will use some of the secrets the champions shared as we start this fun and productive journey with “Future Entrepreneursâ€.
The Chicago Cubs not only won the World Series, they also reached all sections of the city and all backgrounds, with fans celebrating peacefully in a sea of blue. They held the record for the most tweets on a topic during Game 7 of the World Series that reached 64 billion tweets, globally. They capped the celebrations with a win as the Laureus World Team of the Year during the 2017 Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco.

Foundation for Success
The first building block is: Accountability.
“Accountability breeds response-ability.†~Stephen Covey
Are you in the right frame of mind to commit to your goal?
Are you ready to prepare for the next step? Do you want to become a champion?
We hope so! We believe in you and your success!
It’s crucial to know your reason for choosing a goal…welcome to your why.
Take a moment to ask yourself:
What makes my goal important?
How will this improve my life?
When you have a persuasive answer, you have a better chance of doing something about it. If you don’t, the goal and desire to achieve it may fade away.
Do you want your goal enough?
Change is never easy, and it’s become cliché because it’s still true.
Is there another goal that is more important to me?
You won’t want to make sacrifices or do the work if you don’t want it bad enough. If you don’t have your true why yet, that’s okay. Take some time to refine it by asking yourself what matters with the questions above. When you have your answer, you will see and feel the value in it. You are reading this as a future entrepreneur, so that’s an excellent start!
I often say “wherever you are on your journey, believe it’s worth the tripâ€!
In the name of accountability, I’ll be back next week to talk more with Future Entrepreneurs.
Power of Giving Back
We believe in smart business, brands on a mission and the power of giving back.
Let’s draw this week to a close by celebrating success.
I will be giving away a signed copy of my book Secrets to Shine though the Noise
https://www.amazon.com/Secrets-Shine-Through-Noise-Amplify/dp/1628653183 to someone who leaves a comment below.
I am also able to grant a wish to someone who is a baseball fan, who loves the Cubs and could come to Chicago on their own. I’ll get tickets to a Cubs home game to watch the World Series Champs at Wrigley Field.
We can work out the details through Ms. Simonetta.
I also hope to share news soon about a fundraiser we will do with the Cubs and well-known musicians to benefit my community partner, Teen Cancer America https://www.teencanceramerica.org
Thanks for reading!
Cheers & fair winds,
