Help Me Get Back on My Feet So I Can Pay It Forward
Date Published:
My name is Shevelle Daniels, and my wish is for a small push to help me get back on my feet after back surgery.
I have a job, and I am doing everything I can to keep going. Right now, I work from home part time while caring for my two grandchildren. Between medical bills, rent, and needed truck repairs, I feel overwhelmed. It is hard to keep up when you are trying to recover, provide for your family, and make every dollar stretch.
My most urgent wish is to get my truck repaired so I can return to better-paying work and provide more stability for my grandchildren. Help with rent or essential bills would also give me room to breathe while I rebuild. I want to be able to support my family without constantly wondering how I will cover the next expense.
Even through these struggles, I have held on to my desire to help others. I started Brownsuga Empowerment Foundation because I know what it feels like to need support. My vision is to help children and younger teens understand their feelings, speak up, and build healthy lives. I also want to connect families with food, utility assistance, and resources that help them move forward.
Another part of my wish is help covering the application fee to seek federal tax-exempt status for the foundation. This would help me take the next step toward building these programs.
It is difficult to admit that, while I want to help others, I need help myself right now. But I know how to pay it forward. Getting my truck fixed and catching up on essential bills would help me care for my grandchildren, improve my income, and continue building a foundation rooted in the struggles I understand firsthand.
I am asking for a chance to regain my footing and keep moving forward. Please help me help myself, so I can help others do the same.
