Creating "modern-day spaces" in desolate communities in Papua New Guinea

Date Published: 4/26/2025

Hi,

My name is Nawi, and I am reaching out from Papua New Guinea (PNG). I wish to share with you the details of a project I plan to undertake and ask your help to donate towards. The project offers an intricate solution to overcome the persistent problem of inequality affecting many marginalized communities here.

According to various sources, “Papua New Guinea has some of the highest rates of inequality in the world” as highlighted in this UNDP report (https://www.undp.org/sites/g/files/zskgke326/files/2023-03/undp_png_genderstrategy_2023.pdf). The result has been detrimental on women and girls who are often victims of the menacing effect of gender inequality and other forms of discrimination.
As a Changemaker, my aim is to help reduce the magnitude of this problem. Your support will be imperative in helping me achieve the goal!

The approach I will employ is the creation of “modern-day spaces” in desolate communities to provide essentials like electricity, internet, and online banking services to give rise to growth and progress, especially in the aspirations of women and girls.

These proposed small-scale spaces will be established by capitalizing on the gains of current technological developments that are unveiling robust and innovative tech products that are easy to install, integrate, and operate in susceptible settings. These products include the plug-and-play Bluetti Solar Generator (https://www.bluettipower.com/products/ac300-b300?variant=44656107290843) for small-scale energy needs, Koolboks Chest Freezers (https://www.koolboks.com/) to preserve perishable market goods, and Kacific’s Internet of Things (https://kacific.com/png/services/kacific-internet-of-things/) to enable digital connectivity.

The idea is to repurpose and merge the functions of these smart products so their collective technological marvels can spawn modern-day thresholds in barren communities to ignite the wishes of the people to grow and transform. As an example, the innovative Bluetti Solar Generators that are used as back-up power for homes in industrialized countries will be repurposed to provide power to seed and sustain the social and economic aspirations of the marginalized in developing countries.

This initiative will kickstart in a last-mile unconnected community richly endowed with local resources. Women and girls from this community and two neighboring villages will be guided to tap into the local resource depositories and engage in small-scale commercial activities to earn income for their families.

While this is a noble undertaking, my desire to facilitate the provision of the fundamental modern-day liberties can only come true if this initiative is supported and my wish granted. Greater still, you too can become a Changemaker by donating to this intricate scheme to give less fortunate people the opportunities to relish the social and economic freedoms the rest of us so blissfully enjoy.

Please join me and let’s provide opportunities for the rural people in Papua New Guinea, especially women and girls to nurture their families and transform their communities.

Thank you for your donation and thank you for sharing the message of this appeal!
