Dear Generous Souls,
My name is Brian Luchini, a 53-year-old Sacramento resident living with cirrhosis of the liver for the past decade. My wife, Yeva, and I are reaching out with a heartfelt request to fulfill our lifelong dream of sailing the world together. With my health uncertain, we want to seize this moment to embark on an adventure we’ve cherished since we met. We’ve put our dreams on hold to raise our children and support our extended family, including a niece who has lived with us for over a decade. Now, we humbly ask for your support to make this journey a reality and share it with the world through YouTube to inspire others.
Growing up in California, from San Diego to Lake Tahoe, Yeva and I have always been drawn to the ocean—surfing, fishing, and dreaming of the open sea. Sailing the world has been our shared vision, imagining the freedom of navigating distant shores like the Pacific islands or the Mediterranean, building memories side by side. But life came first. We dedicated ourselves to our family, raising our children and supporting loved ones, leaving little room for our own aspirations.
Despite my health holding steady for 10 years, cirrhosis is unpredictable, and we want to chase this dream while we can. We envision a modest journey on a seaworthy vessel, learning the sea’s rhythms and cherishing every moment together. To inspire others, we plan to document our adventure on YouTube, sharing stories, photos, and videos of our travels, offering lessons on resilience, pursuing dreams, and living fully despite challenges. Our goal is to motivate others to overcome obstacles and embrace their passions, just as we are striving to do.
Our resources are limited, so we’re seeking financial assistance to acquire a suitable boat, equip it for safe travel, and cover provisions for our journey. The costs—vessel, maintenance, and supplies—are significant but achievable with the support of kind-hearted donors or investors. In return, we’ll share our YouTube journey, dedicating our content to celebrating the generosity that makes it possible and inspiring a global audience to pursue their dreams.
For 30 years, I’ve worked in the restaurant and sales industries, and Yeva has poured her heart into healthcare and our family.
