Cope with the Moment

“You can always cope with the present moment, but you cannot cope with something that is only a projection - you cannot cope with the future.†~Eckhart Tolle
As Queen Elizabeth pays her visits to victims in the hospital, the world is still reeling from this week’s Manchester bombing. We’re taking this time to send, love, peace, thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families. And take some time for yourself to cope with the news.
This week invokes adaptability and mindfulness, since we never know exactly what the future will hold. We can all harness some healthy perspective. Learn more about simple ways to relax your body and mind:
1) Regular exercise is one of the best ways to manage stress. Walking is a great way to get started. I also love Zumba as a fun way to exercise body and mind. Stretching can also relieve muscle and mental tension.
2) Breathing exercises can help relieve stress as well.
Belly breathing relaxing and an effortless way to refresh your perspective. Try this basic exercise to relax or relieve stress.
> Sit or lie flat in a comfortable position.
> Put one hand on your belly just below your ribs and the other hand on your chest.
> Take a deep breath in through your nose, and let your belly push your hand out. Your chest should not move.
> Breathe out through pursed lips as if you were whistling. Feel the hand on your belly go in, and use it to push all the air out.
> Do this breathing 3 to 10 times. Take your time with each breath.
> Notice how you feel at the end of the exercise.
3) Write or paint. Getting your feelings on paper or on canvas can settle your mind and help heal the discontent and heartbreak while the bombing is still in the news. #Manchesterstrong
And as the quote above suggests, we cannot cope with the future until it exists. We cannot live in fear or stay inside or away from the concerts that bring fun into our lives.
We wish you the best this week in hope and in coping. We’ll be back next week to continue the journey in Champion Choices.
