MUD to STARS project for Mental Health

I am an advocate for Mental Health, writing and speaking from lived experience with mental illness. On three occasions between 1993 - 2009 I was admitted to a hospital psychiatric ward, with a diagnosis of stress induced, Brief Reactive Psychosis.

In the aftermath, I struggled with extreme anxiety and panic attacks and the vital factor in my recovery was in changing my mindset, which ultimately changed my life. My children were 9 and 11 years old when I was first hospitalized and I share my journey to wellness, not only to help people struggling with mental illness but, to bring better understanding to families, friends and the wider community to help end stigma.

I could never have known the twists and turns of life would lead to writing my bio and I have recently decided this will be a Novel, to be distributed internationally to schools and hospitals. My DEAREST WISH is for my MUD to STARS project for mental health, to build a support centre for families and friends of loved ones struggling with mental illness.
