Our One Wish: To Become Mothers ❤️

Date Published:

For eight long years, my partner Madelyn and I have held on to one beautiful dream — to become mothers.

We are a same-sex couple from South Africa, and for eight years, we saved every little bit we could, made sacrifices, and put so much of our lives on hold just to afford the chance of having a baby.

After an unsuccessful IUI treatment, we finally saved enough for IVF with ICSI. On 25 October 2026, we transferred our precious day-five embryo. For a few beautiful days, we truly believed our dream was finally coming true.

But on 2 November, our hearts broke when our pregnancy test came back negative.

We still have one precious frozen embryo — one last little piece of hope from this IVF cycle. Unfortunately, after eight years of saving to get this far, we simply cannot afford another transfer.

Our wish isn't for money, luxury, or anything material. Our wish is for the opportunity to become mothers.

We dream of holding our baby, hearing little footsteps in our home, and one day hearing a tiny voice call us Mom. We have a lifetime of love waiting for a child we haven't yet had the chance to meet.

We know another attempt cannot promise us a baby. We are simply wishing for someone to help us afford one more chance.

If someone could help sponsor our frozen embryo transfer, it would mean more than words could ever express.

After eight years of hoping, we are still holding on to our faith in God and believing that our story isn't over.

Sometimes, all it takes is one act of kindness to change someone's entire world. ❤️

With love and hope,
