Mechanised Food Processing Machines and Equipment for Disadvantaged Youth and Women
Date Published:
I wish to provide internally displaced youth and women affected by the Anglophone crisis in Cameroon—now living in the town of Melong—with access to high-quality mechanised food processing machines and equipment.
Many of these women and young people depend on small-scale agriculture to survive. They work as sharecroppers and produce cassava, but the processing is extremely labor-intensive. They grate cassava by hand and fry it over open fires, exposing themselves to intense heat and health risks. All of this effort is simply to put food on the table and earn a small income for their families.
With mechanised equipment, they would be able to process their products more safely, efficiently, and in larger quantities - improving their livelihoods, strengthening food security, and restoring a sense of dignity and hope. My wish is to empower them with the tools they need to rebuild their lives and create sustainable income.
