Wish something for my family
Date Published:
They say that sometimes you have to hope for the impossible, to dream a dream that may never come true. But I still want to believe that there is goodness in people — that there are people who genuinely want to make someone else’s dreams come true.
I hope that, somehow, that will be true for me too.
I am a mother of two children, and our third baby is on the way. My husband and I both work ordinary jobs. No matter how hard we work, at the end of every month we are left with just enough to cover our mortgage, bills, and everyday life. We never manage to save anything.
One of our biggest dreams is to buy a new, reliable family car, especially now that another baby is on the way. Our dream car is a Volvo because it is big and safe, and we would all be able to fit comfortably inside. Right now, my husband drives a car that is more than 21 years old, and honestly, it is literally falling apart. :(
I would love for someone to make this dream come true for us, because I have spent my entire life fighting, working, and trying to build something better despite everything that has happened to me.
I have lived through more trauma than I ever thought a person could endure. During the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, my entire family was wounded, including me. My mother was left disabled, my father became a war veteran with severe disabilities, and my sister developed epilepsy as a result of the trauma.
I studied. I worked. I kept going.
My mother was seriously ill. I eventually found a job, got married, and became pregnant. Then, while I was seven months pregnant, I watched my mother die in front of my eyes.
After that, my father developed cancer and eventually passed away from metastases.
Somehow, I survived it all.
I survived grief. I survived injustice. I survived years of working for the minimum wage. I kept getting back up, no matter how many times life knocked me down.
And now, for once, I wish someone would do something for me.
I know there are countless people in the world who need help, and I know this may sound like an impossible dream. But I would be incredibly grateful if someone could make this one wish come true for my family — a safe, reliable car for our children and for the baby who is on the way.
I have spent my whole life working for everything I have. I have never expected anyone to give me anything.
But maybe, just once, I deserve to receive something I could never afford to give myself.
Maybe someone out there will decide to make one small part of my lifelong dreams come true.
I still believe there is goodness in people.
And I still believe that sometimes, impossible dreams do come true. ❤️
I hope that, somehow, that will be true for me too.
