FE: Ignite the spark

Date Published: 7/01/2021

Everyone has a fire, but the champions know when to ignite the spark.

My recent app client and design team discussed helpful tips on a common topic entrepreneurs seem passionate about... drum roll please...MEETINGS!

To continually be mindful of your time and your attendees' time, try the following tips on a regular basis:

Agendas

> Get in the habit of adding agendas to your meeting invites (e.g.,What questions are you trying to answer in the meeting? What decisions need to be made?). If there is no agenda in the meeting you got invited to, then ASK FOR ONE.

If you don't know why you are being included in the meeting or what is needed from you then ASK. If nothing is being asked of you, then you don't need to attend, and you can say that.

If you really just don't know/understand the purpose of the meeting, ASK! Start with the organizer to gain clarity and then evaluate. Sometimes, this could help cancel an unnecessary meeting, turn it into an email, or give the meeting more structure. WIN-WIN! ;)

Let's get out of the automatic reaction of accepting meeting invites and be thoughtful with these tips before responding! Please share other tips you may have been using!

Happy 4th of July to our American readers! Enjoy your holiday time and state of mind!
