I Wish to start a Care Farm for children with Autism and Down Syndrome in Afghanistan

I am writing this message to introduce myself as Karin Nevelsteen, a member of the NGO TEDHO located in Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan. Our organization is committed to improving the lives of children and adults with special needs, including those with Autism, Down Syndrome, and ADHD.
As you may know, individuals with special needs often face exclusion and marginalization in society. They require more time and explanation to learn, which can lead to academic and social integration problems. Without proper support, they may experience depression, anxiety, aggression, and even become criminals or drug addicts. This is why we aim to establish a day care center that focuses on the capabilities of these individuals rather than their limitations.
However, the current Afghan government has no open or ongoing projects for children with special needs. Therefore, we are seeking funding to establish a day care center that provides therapies such as Art therapy, Play therapy, Horticulture therapy, AAT (Animal Assisted therapy), and CBT. The center will also offer academic education, socializing, language and communication training, and everyday life skills such as cleaning, cooking, and gardening.
Our plan is to build a day care center with facilities like an Art Studio, land for Horticulture, Greenhouses, Shelter and enough space for animals, classroom for academic education, separate Bathrooms for girls and boys with shower installations, nursery room, doctor’s office, relaxation room, playground for the little ones, several minibuses for transport. We will also have contracts with shops, markets, and greenhouses to provide work for those who are ready to participate in society. Additionally, we will start our own self-sufficient community to maintain our day care.
However, TEDHO does not have the finances and facilities to support this huge project on our own. Therefore, we are reaching out to you to request funding for this noble cause. Your contribution will help us provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and adults with special needs. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to live a fulfilling life and make meaningful contributions to society.
