My Wish: Turning Entertainment Into Giving Back
As a 20 year old who grew up in the township I decided to host Giving Back events, and my purpose is bigger than simply putting on an event. I want to use entertainment to teach our youth that we can enjoy ourselves while also making a difference in someone else's life.
My events bring people together through music, entertainment and community, while encouraging them to donate and support people who need it. I want to take this beyond the communities I currently reach and go into neglected and underserved communities, especially those where young people are often overlooked.
My wish is to grow these Giving Back events into something much bigger — creating spaces where young people can have fun, support entertainers and creatives, and at the same time learn the importance of giving, community and looking out for others.
I want to prove that giving back doesn't have to be boring or separate from entertainment. We can enjoy ourselves and still make an impact.
