Aquaponic Farm for the first-ever Intergenerational Educational Campus!

The Hands 4Life mission targets an underserved market—the aging population. Hands 4Life is a first-of-its-kind organization that encapsulates many humanitarian efforts other organizations address—the needs of children, family housing, education, medical issues, and nutrition. But
what happens when your focus begins to include the older population to address ageism on both ends of the spectrum? Imagine the outcome when the older generation imparts their wisdom to the young. What happens when the young learn to honor and respect their elders?

We are launching the first-ever intergenerational educational campus in Owerri, Nigeria where 14 orphaned children and 14 orphaned seniors will reside and do life together. On the campus, we need to build an aquaponic farm to feed the children and seniors, the employees, and everyone in our community outreach program. The aquaponic farm will cost $300,000. The campus has plenty of space for aquaponic farming, fruit trees, crops, and various farm animals. The kids work the land if they have expressed a passion for getting their hands dirty. Those teens who are more of a salesman learn how to sell the abundance of the goods to local markets and restaurants. The lessons to learn are focused on sustainability, earned income, and developing business skills in order to be a productive member of society.
