A New Start

Hello! My name is Ashley Shearer and I am the Senior Case Manager at Dignity Housing. We are a homeless housing program in Germantown Philadelphia. I am writing a wish for a specific client that I have had the pleasure to work with for 2 years that is in need of a new start. She came to our program after deciding to get clean and make her 2 daughters her priority. Since coming to our program she has maintained her sobriety, has maintained employment working her way up into a management position, and gained her ServSafe Certification. During her time here she decided to cut ties with her daughter's father after he broke in and stole all of her belongings. He did not respond to the breakup well. He began to stalk her, begging her for money to feed his addiction, and make threats against her. He broke into her apartment again and stole everything including food that he knew was meant for his daughter. She filed a restraining order against him; 5 days later, after replacing everything, he broke in AGAIN. She is now fearful for her and her children's safety. She has decided to move back to Colorado to be with her family. In the midst of all of this she has completed her GED! She is ready to move on to her next goal, but Philadelphia is not a safe place anymore for her to do this. She works hard to provide for her daughter's everyday, but she needs help making this move. I am asking on her behalf for her wish of having a new beginning in Colorado to be granted.
