My name is Nammanda Lydia Rose Mary, I am 25 years old, I live in Uganda with my family. I work as a gender inclusion team lead at Famunera Limited and also running a charity organization that i registered in 2012 with the aim of creating employment opportunities for the single mothers through agriculture. I love doing social and charity work, helping, giving hope and changing a life makes me the happiest women on earth.
I was raised by a single mother who i grew up seeing struggling to pay my school fees and meet my needs where at some point she failed and sent me to my aunt where i survived a couple of times being raped by the husband, by God's i managed to survive and went back to my mother so we could hustle as i study. I thank God i managed to finish studies through working hand in hand with my mom through selling food in the evenings after my school and in holidays to get my school fees.
I wish to help more single mothers through creating employment opportunities for them to be able to pay school fees and meet their daily needs in order to reduce on the number of girls between age 12-20 who are sent to work as house maids in people's homes where they face all sorts of mistreatment and abuse because of their vulnerability. I wish to change a life of a single mother and create financial and food stability in their homes.
To date Famunera Foundation has been able to assist over 50 women (single mothers) with modern seed planters that enable easy production, saves times, accurate, less tiring and cost effective. They have enabled them get enough for selling and also spare for home consumption.
Famunera would like to impact more change more lives through wish wall Foundation.
