FE: Play It Back

Date Published: 12/02/2021

“When people actually see what we do and they feel the vibe of what we’re creating, it really hits them hard. We've got to be there for them.” ~ Roger Daltrey, lead singer of The Who

Let’s help lift each other up! Yesterday was #GivingTuesday, and I’m especially inspired by those who have shared their voices and the power to heal. We can all use a wave of healing after 18-months of a pandemic! I donated time and writing to The Wishwall, plus money and platelets to Teen Cancer America (TCA). Lean in and listen:

What does TCA do?

Roger Daltrey: We pay for that space in the hospital. We equip it. We maintain it. And we provide specialist nursing. That’s what we do. And you have to remember that a lot of these youngsters who get cancer don’t live near a big city. They might be miles out in the sticks. So, we are starting outreach programs where we send specialized nursing, setting up web links so that they can link patients up.

The Play It Back Music program gives adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors the opportunity to express themselves and heal through the power of making music. Play It Back connects AYA cancer survivors with industry professionals to create songs, meet artists, and explore music. We work with all skill levels, from professional to beginner.

You can even see our Team Wyatt 5K race team: We partnered with TCA’s celebrity ambassador Wyatt Oleff, to raise awareness on the behalf of teens and young adults facing cancer. Some of Wyatt’s cast mates (Jaeden Wesley and Jake Sim) from the hit horror movie “IT Chapter II” joined the event. You can also catch Wyatt Oleff on Netflix’s new series “I Am Not Okay With This.“ https://www.netflix.com/title/80244781

I’ve connected with other singers/survivors, so more songs shall ensue!
