It is not about the donor; it is about the person who gives

Kind-hearted, generous people not to criticize me for making gullible mistakes in the past, but rather help this 70-year old lady to enjoy a carefree winter period of her life.
As a single parent of two children, I had a full-time job, but also did after-hours contract work to supplement my income. When I retired I was contacted by a "financial advisor" who offered me a better return on investment with the pension fund money. He constantly asked for more money in order to even better the ROI. I borrowed money from several people to increase my pension capital. When I insisted that I cannot get any more money, he disappeared into thin air. I opened a case at the South African Police Services, but to date (10+ years later), the case is still pending.
I appointed a private investigator to undertake my case. He showed me his PSiRA* certificate, gave me his business card, drove a business-name-branded vehicle and even had his secretary to attend while I signed the contract. (*The Mandate of PSiRA derives from the Private Security Industry Regulation Act 56 of 2001. The primary objective of the Authority is to regulate the private security industry and to exercise effective control over the practice of the occupation). In the beginning he kept me up to date with the progress of the case, but later asked me to deposit money into the business account. When I refused to do so, he became very demanding. I received a telephone call from a unknown person informing me that I am on his hit-list. The following day I was outside in he garden and there he was parked outside the driveway staring at me. I ran into the house and called the home security services. They escorted me to the police station. Later I found out that he was the mastermind behind the infamous South African Bonny and Clyde saga. I went for counselling, but to date still suffer from post-traumatic stress and depression.
I sold my house and relocated. My son has a cottage on his property which I occupy currently. All the money that I received from selling the house, I used to repay the people I borrowed money from during the first and second scam.
At present I have applied for a few work-from-home jobs. Still awaiting their response.
My final wish is to become financially independent and be able to enjoy the last few years of my life in peace and tranquility
