Recover, Rebuild, and Restore: Helping Survivors of the Devastating Flash Floods in Malawi

In late March 2024, heavy rains caused widespread flash flooding in Karonga and Nkhotakota districts in central and northern parts of Malawi, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Thousands of families have been displaced, their homes submerged or washed away by the raging waters. Crops and livestock, which were the lifeline for many in these predominantly agricultural communities, have been decimated.
The people of these districts now face a dire humanitarian crisis. They have lost everything – their homes, belongings, food sources, and livelihoods. With no shelter, food, clean water or basic necessities, they are in desperate need of immediate aid and support.
