Safe water for my community

I wish I can help my community to have safe access to clean water. I wish to construct a deep well on Wattuba spring to ensure that women and their children in the community are able to have access to clean water. The spring serves 4 villages with water, women and their children are the ones who fetch water in this community according to traditional setting, and women are the ones who are involved in all reproductive roles. In 2024 we made research about this spring, we found out that during rainy season the water becomes brownish because of running water that contaminates it. The water is contaminated with fesses in this area because some people don’t have toilets and are found of digging small holes to defecate in, when it rains, they are washed away and that water ends in this spring. Animals are also found of drinking from this spring which contaminates the waters of it.
Over 3500 women and their children in the community have no any other alternative of getting water from other than this spring. The only alternative is a borehole that is 10KM away from them, it’s difficult for women and children to walk that distance to collect water. Recently a woman and 7 year old girl drowned into and died as they had got to fetch water.
This has caused regularly, dysentery, Extreme diarrhea and Cholera to children and women because there is no good water in the community
The water comes from natural springs and it is good water only that the spring is not constructed to protect it from being contaminated. This is the reason why it looks yellowish whenever it rains because running water mixes with it.
