Support for Internally Displaced persons(IDPs) in Muhokya Camp have better latrines and Mosquito nets.

Date Published:

It all began in May 2020 when floods caused by rivers Nyamwamba, Nyamugasani and lubiriha hit about four sub counties in kasese District Uganda, the victims were then relocated to kanyangeya primary school in Nyamwamba Division where they spent 7 months, on December 18 2020, the office of the prime minister relocated them to Muhokya IDP Camp to date, the camp has 1600 displaced persons but with only 5 mobile toilets, people line up for them in the morning going to ease themselves, this forces some to ease themselves in the near by bushes, their sanitation and hygiene is worrying, further more the camp last received mosquito nets in January 2022 from the office of the prime minister, most of people in the camp suffer from malaria due to mosquito bites and the most affected are the women and children, this calls for attention and a need to help persons in the Muhokya IDP camp so that they can live a better life and to their full potential.
Thank you.
