Equipment/Tools donation and a vocational training centre for the vulnerable girls and young women in Kayunga District, Central Uganda

Dear Sir/Madam,

We hope this email finds you well.

I bring you greetings from Youth Inclusion and Empowerment Network, a youth-led and youth-serving nonprofit organization that aims at improving the health and wellbeing of young people particularly girls and young women in the hard-to-reach local communities of Uganda through livelihood and youth empowerment programs.

I am Okwir Walter I dynamic young change maker. I was motivated to start up Youth Inclusion and Empowerment Network – YIEN when my 15-year-old sister dropped out of school, because of lack of sanitary pads & period stigma, and she became pregnant. These words paint vivid pictures of laughter, love, pain, and hardship. The tale of witnessing my sister’s experience inspired me to serve my community through an initiative that teaches girls and young women how to make eco-friendly reusable sanitary pads. These skills help these girls manage their menstrual cycles safely, hygienically and sustainably, allowing them to take advantage of their studies.
This dynamic nonprofit organization seeks to advance and promote quality and improved health and wellbeing for young people with specific emphasis on promotion of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, enhancement of Gender Equality and empowerment of women and girls, and promotion of Youth Livelihoods, entrepreneurship and skills development in rural areas of Uganda.
We hereby write to you to ask for your kind support for our livelihood and youth empowerment program (Vocational Training Center) located in Bukeeka, Kangulumira Sub County - Kayunga District. Right now we lack materials, equipment like electric sewing machines, oven for the bakery department, hair dryers for the hairdressing department and a facility for the success, effective and sustainability running of this life-changing Vocational Training program.

Any help offered to us will be highly appreciated and working with you collaboratively will help these teenage mothers gain vocational training skills and improve their livelihoods.
