I have a dream of Making a Difference pt.2
Date Published: 5/13/2016
My story is so important to every individual out there because sexual abuse, self-harm, and suicide happens more than we could ever want to know. There's no particular person or race that goes through this. This has become so much of a silent epidemic that people don't speak out or really talk about it, it's starting to become the "norm" because it happens so much.
I am here to change that and be that voice for people who don't have the strength or courage to speak out and to help them feel confident, not ashamed or embarrassed. Also, to know that no matter what we go through we are all beautiful.
Sometimes not so beautiful things happen to us but that doesnt, in any way, make us less beautiful. It adds more beauty if we use life's obstacles as stepping stones to greater things in life. My movement, CHEETAH Movement allows individuals to feel beautiful even through the 'cheetah wounds', to embrace their wounds inside and out, to be fierce, affectionate, majestic, Â and persevered. That's what makes us all CHEETAHS!
I believe in my heart that this movement will take the world by storm and touch so many lives because although I may be so young I am willing and driven to share my story to inspire, educate, and raise awareness on mental health. Also, to make efforts on ending stigmas surrounding mental health because it's real whether we want to believe it or not.
My wish is that The Celebrity Wishmaker Simonetta Lein can help me reach Ellen Degeneres with my heartfelt story and CHEETAH movement because she's so passionate about helping people, Ellen inspires me so deeply because she was also sexually abused by her stepdad as a child, she too has been through deep depression but MOST of all she overcame all of that and found her own strength as she began to find her light, she began to love herself just how she was, and not allow what she went through to define her but to carve her into the great woman she was ought to be.
As I continue to grow she's who I aspire to be - strong, courageous, open-minded, loving, and giving. "To me, beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin. It's knowing and accepting who you are." ~Ellen Degeneres. Love you Ellen. â¤
