TO HAVE A MAJOR PORTRAITS OF HOPE PROJECT EVENT
Date Published: 2/02/2016
Hi Simonetta,
Thank you for this opportunity to share my voice to the world. Irvin Rivera here; I am a Photographer and the founder of Portraits of Hope Project. The fundraising project started to help my friend from Manila who is afflicted with cancer.
What I do is I photograph people’s portraits in exchange for their donation to help our specific beneficiaries. The money we get is directly donated to whoever we are helping.
The first project was done in a tiny spot at Melrose Ave, in Hollywood. Someone gave us the spot for free to use for a couple of hours. Since then, me and my team of volunteers have been producing the events and collaborating with different events to help give us a spot so that we can do our fundraiser.
So far we have helped 6 people and organizations. Our next beneficiary is Gabriella. A girl inflicted with HIV and Cancer at the same time. She needs all the help that she can get to help her get by. (Medical bills, etc)
My goal is to get the project promoted to bigger media channels. Buzzfeed, HUFFPOST, LA Times, NY Times, etc would be very helpful.
My main wish is to be able to produce an event where I can exhibit the portraits I took and at the same time invite celebrities and people of stature to helpo us raise bigger funds to whoever we are helping.
You can view the portraits and more details about the project here: www.portraitsofhopeproject.com
Thanks a lot!
Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
