Hi Everybody, fianally thanks to Simonetta Lein and Sara I was able to meet my idol, the Italian singer Gigi D'Alessio. My name is Annarita, I have 23 and I live near Turin. From the moment I was born I am living with a physical pathology that doesn't allow me to walk. A few months ago I expressed my meaningful wish in this website, I have been contacted by the staff of The Wishwall Foundation and almost immediately, but because of my health problems I have never answered, despite this they have kept on working on my wish and only when I felt better I finally got back to them. I spoke with Sara Baresi and they told me about my wish status. I was so surprised! I did not believe was possible. Sara supported me together with Simonetta Lein The Wishmaker, they did everything possible to grant my wish. They are very kind people that believe really in what they do. Going back to my wish, Simonetta Lein in person sent me a video in which my idol, the Italian singer Gigi Di Alessio, invited me to meet him during a concert in Turin. I was in heaven. I had to wait a month, those weeks passed rapidly and my anxiety to finally meet him increased tremendously. The 8th of April I went very early at the concert location, I was too impatient. But Everything was true. After a while the manager came over and told me that I would have met my idol. I was brought to the backstage, my heart was spinning, We took pictures, Gigi was so nice. When everything was finished I realized the pictures didn't come out. I am usually very shy but I felt so strong thanks to this experience that with courage I went back and I asked if I could have taken some new pictures and it happened. Thank you everyone with all my heart! Thanks because in these few minutes I was able to forget all the problems around me and I found a hint of happiness. All of this happened through people I do not know and live very far away from me. This shows that with some collaboration everything is possible!

Ciao a tutti, finalmente grazie a Simonetta Lein e a Sara, sono riuscita a rivedere il mio idolo Gigi D'Alessio. Vi racconto un pÃ² com'Ã¨ andata, inizialmente per vari motivi di salute non riuscii ad entrare alla mail e spesso non rispondevo nemmeno al cellulare. Questo meraviglioso staff di desideriamo.it si Ã¨ dato da fare nonostante la mia mancata risposta. Quando mi contattarono pensai che sarebbe stato il solito "scherzo", e non credevo che da li a poco il mio desiderio si sarebbe avverato. Mi mandarono prima un video fatto da Gigi D'Alessio in cui mi invitava ad andare al concerto di Torino sabato 2 aprile, da li entrai completamente in panico e inizia a scrivere in continuazione a Sara (poveretta) :) . Sabato 8 aprile, il giorno tanto atteso mi ritrovai davanti alla sede del concerto nel primo pomeriggio, il mio cuore andava a mille per farla breve arrivarono molto lentamente le 18.00 quando improvvisamente oltre a vedere tutta la band entrare, mi fermÃ² il suo manager e mi disse che da li a poco sarei entrata e lo avrei incontrato. Passarono dieci minuti e mi misero una specie di tesserino con su scritto : Ospite :) poi mi fecero salire e aspettai nel corridoio. Era pieno di porte e insegne ma quando vidi la scritta Camerino non ci capii piÃ¹ nulla sapevo che fosse li dentro e non vedevo l'ora di entrare :) Dopo poco mi fecero cenno di entrare e lui come al solito non esitÃ² a farmi battutine e a mettermi a mio agio proprio come se ci fossimo visti il giorno prima. Ci scattarono due foto gli diedi il regalo e uscii. Una volta uscita mi accorsi che le foto in realtÃ non vennero perchÃ¨ c'era troppa luce, cosi misi da parte la timidezza e chiesi di poter rientrare a rifare la foto, mi accontentarono e lui era contento di vedermi e continuava a scherzare. La sua dolcezza era unica. Lo staff gli disse che avevo scritto a Desideriamo.it e lui fece un sorriso timido si vedeva che era imbarazzato, ci salutammo e andai a godermi il concerto tanto atteso. Tutto questo e' successo grazie a persone che non conosco e che vivono molto lontano da me e mostra che con la collaborazione tutto diventa possibile! Thanks because in these few minutes I was able to forget all the problems around me and I found a hint of happiness.

#Water ForThe People Project Funded by The WishWall Foundation 2024. #AWishGrantedInProgress The rural population of Muwanga in kiboga district Uganda draws their water from unprotected springs or swamps located from 300 to 600 meters (328 to 656 yards) from the villages or from hand-dug wells, locally known as (bidiba). The (bidiba) are primitive wells with an average depth of about six meters and with a diameter about the size of a large truck tire and uncovered at the top. The water collected from swamps (bidiba) is used for bathing, washing clothes, cooking and drinking, also shared, by cows, goats, hens and dogs Unfortunately, the shared use of swamps, (bidiba),springs for washing laundry, bathing and cooking is unsanitary and promotes a number of health problems. According to 2021 clinical data/information obtained from mama Tendo who owns a local clinic here in Kigoma Village most of the sick patients she treats suffer from diarrhea, typhoid, dysentery and intestinal stomach aches. The WishwallFoundation is Funding Muwanga Development Association a local organisation to establish a modren Well to provide safe-clean water the people of kiboga in Uganda. The president of Muwanga Development Association said “ the local people here have contracted diseases from these dirty water sources for many years” but now friends from The WishwallFoundation have done them good” A BIG THANK YOU.

In the past few weeks, we have embarked on a renewed health project with the WishWall Foundation to support good health and well-being. We have made substantial progress with renovating the primary health care center. As a result of the tireless work of skilled labor, we have completed the flooring, replaced wooden window outlets with Aluminium windows, and fixed leakages on the roof. Also, we are happy to commence the reconstruction of the toilet facility, which will be completed in a few weeks. At the end of the toilet construction, we shall begin the final phase of painting and donating drugs and some medical equipment to the facility.

Title: Meet Prinicipal Claris Madame Claris played soccer with KGSA back in the early 2000s before it evolved into a free high school for girls. She was an amazing goalkeeper and still enjoys playing ⚽️ with her students. Last year, the Executive Director of iRead To Live Initiatve, Jacob Sule accompanied by Ayisat Abiona , Program Manager of iRead visited some schools in Osun State Nigeria as part of their intervention for literacy & efforts to transforming education in Nigeria. They were displeased by what they saw and reached out to their partners, the WishWall Foundation for support. The Founder of WishWall Foundation, Ms Simonetta Lein graciously approved funding for the renovation of the library. iRead Initiative hired skilled labors for the reconstruction of the external Walls , painters to paint the facility and artisans to build new books shelves, and tables. Towering over the tin roof homes in Kibera, the new dormitory at the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy (KGSA) is the pride of the Makina neighborhood. This state of the art three story facility has a rooftop soccer field that just recently began providing a safe place for girls to study, eat, sleep (and dream). KGSA is a free, holistic high school that serves 130 girls every year located in the largest informal settlement – the largest slum – in Africa. Almost a million people live in a region the size of New York City’s Central Park with no running water, bathrooms or reliable electricity in their homes. While the educational gender gap has been decreasing in Sub-Saharan Africa, there’s still room for improvement. The World Economic Forum in 2022, identified that amount of girls in lower and upper secondary levels is not at the same rate as their male peers. In a country, where 44% of girls don't finish high school, the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy is filling a tremendous need for girls and their families in Kenya. Unlike the USA, public high school isn’t free in Kenya. Many families can’t afford to pay for the high school tuition, uniforms, books, school supplies and other fees for their children, so boys often get preferential treatment leaving the girls behind. Many girls become teen brides and teen mothers depending on men to support them. Research shows that girls who complete high school earn more, marry later and have less children. That’s why KGSA’s mission is so important! KGSA educates 130+ girls a year giving girls the opportunity to shape their future and break the cycle of poverty. It’s been a long three weeks, but Aisha finished her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams! She and her senior classmates have ended their high school journey at the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy. Despite cheering for different teams, the girls and teachers are all celebrating Morocco - the first African nation EVER to qualify for the World Cup semifinals. Today is the 10th annual International Day of the Girl. We celebrate Aisha and the other 135 girls studying at KGSA and the 370 girls who have graduated through the years. When we invest in girls, we transform their lives and enable them to uplift everyone and everything around them breaking the cycle of poverty for themselves, their families and their communities.
